I found out yesterday after going to my doctor that I have swine flu. She has me on tons of medicine because I am a type 2 Diabetic and that puts me at a greater risk. Its not that bad right now, just a lot of coughing, short breath and headaches. Hopefully will kick this within a few days. If you have a spare moment next time, please keep me in your prayers though.

Sorry to hear that man. Do they think with the proper meds you can beat it out within the week?

    I'm surprised to hear that.

You will be fine. Swine Flu is statistically a lesser killer than "Regular Flu" and is also a smaller duration, and less painful symptoms than a typical flu. Your pre existing conditions make you much higher risk to be affected negatively by this, but they also affect any other sickness or illness you will ever incur. Good luck man, I know you will be just fine. Rest alot and do what the DR says. :)

I watch my diet as best I can. Alot of chicken and fish with veggies is my fav substitute for whataburger lol. I take Insulin and blood pressure meds since I found out I was type 2 late last year. The exercise and diet has minimized the need for the meds though. I am not sure that I will be better in a week or not, thats just the positive side in me not wanting to become #9 or #10 in the DFW. Thank you for the kind words and Jared, I assure you that right now the Dr. gets my full attention.

Yes I am feeling better. I am still staying home from work also and that has been the worst part. This flu really isnt that bad compared to some other illness's I have had.

I've been feeling kind of Flu Like to but not sure yet it hasn't fully hit me yet. I've been taking meds that are susposed to prevent the disease in its early stages. I hope it doesn't get any worse, right now its just swollen glands and little bit of sniffles. A little fatigue but nothing serious

My gf got it a couple weeks ago. After about 4 days she was back to "normalish" I just kept a little distance but we still slept together and i didnt get it so I was very thankful for that. Seems to have calmed down around here now after we got a big wave of it.

    Hi horseplay
do not worry horseplay I had also suffering form swine flu disease and now i am now Okay. You have to take some Lemon tree's leaf in food.
You have to take your own extra room. And take advice of doctor. This disease is now not dangerous.

Yeah it sucks for us who have chronic medical conditions. People dont realize how quickly we as high-risk individuals can get sick by those whom refuse to take their regular seasonal flu. How a simple cut will not heal as fast as a normal person would, or how a tender hit on the knee can become a bruise.
