I got a couple questions about the LS1 swap my brothers doing, we got the car to crank but are not getting spark, so we believe the vats "anti theft bullshit?", and or the emissions that we removed are causeing this problem? If there are any other things i can look for to make sure that may not be the cause please let me know, we want to start it asap!!!!! We have fuel pressure, checked that!

Would the vats be the problem since the motor has been swaped into a car without vats or are the vats programmed into the pcm?
    Thanks Guys

You need to get it bypassed in the pcm or wire in a false signal module. Look on Ls1 tech or thirdgen.org for details.

VATS is in the PCM. SO if the car didn't have it, and you're using the stock PCM. Not the issue.

    Video,
Sounds like timing is all screwed up.

    What was in there?
What is the difference between the crank trigger wheels?
My best guess is that's where the issue is.

Vats is a fuel shut off. Crank sensor, ignition relay, cam sensor for spark.. You can swap the ignition relay with the #2 fan relay to test.

Also VATS shuts off the injectors so you could have fuel pressure, check the injectors or try squirting some gas into the intake while it's cranking and see if it hits.

    It has VATS.

Sounds like the crank or cam sensor is simply not plugged in.

I was thinking they where upgrading an older F-Body; not a swap into something else.

Turns out, it was the crank sensor, as I predicted.
