Damn, I went to bed hearing just rain. I just woke up to take the dog out and get ready for class and I could hear what I thought was still rain hitting the window so I got my umbrella out. I opened my door to WHITE everywhere and almost fell on my butt taking the dog out!!

Everyone that must drive in it please be safe. Texans get really stupid when this weather comes along!

Pretty bad out there. I already made the decision to work out of the house today. I went out to pick up a couple of tree limbs that fell down in the street. There was at least a quarter inch of rain and sleet that froze before the snow started. Several of the branches were frozen to the road with a couple smaller ones actually under the ice. Bottom line is although it looks like snow out there, it is just a light dusting of snow on a sheet of ice. I am sure the 6 pm news is going to be filled with accident reports today.

Are you guys ready for this one, DFW is going to be under a frostbite warning (no joke) the next 2 days. The next 2 nights they are now saying we will be in single digits (record lows) with negative wind chills as bad as -20 in outlying areas.

At least the Steelers and the Packers made it in. They interviewed both teams today. Steelers said it was too cold to practice. Packers said it was fine, "feels like home." My vote, Packers for the win.

I attempted to go in, but after a mile I said fuck it and turned back. It was stupid beyond belief, people skidding everywhere, and I was in 3rd, going up a hill... and fishtailing @1000rpm.

I like to have bragging rights, that I made it in to work. But it was just not going to happen in a Mustang.

Suck for us hourly employees... It is putting a strain on the budget for sure. But then again, a TA would have wiped my budget for the entire year. What looks like 2 days (tomorrow isn't going to be better) is always better than getting the damage to a car fixed. Or worse... damage to your person or others people.

Yep I've been in management myself. Was an assistant mrg at autozone for 2 years. Lowes is wanting me to move up, but I'm not sure at this time. Too many politics.

i love being in management, i like making decisions, and directing people of what needs done. when i was at autozone, out store mrg was out for 3 weeks straight, i basically had to run the store, and during that 3 weeks, our store was #1 in the district and in the top 5 in the region.. our dm was impressed as how the store stayed in shape without the mrg around..

I love it and it pushes me to do my best and succeed. I have in record time jumped from lower levels to supervising positions. I was the youngest security supervisor for Experian in the company's history and the youngest in the Securitas Security Company's history.

I enjoy managing a project, a crew of people, but don't mind getting my hands dirty and helping them out.

I've done project management for a warehouse and enjoyed that, security is my current business and it pays decent, work is easy, but just isn't satisfying.

Being a full time student doesn't leave you with many options though
