So Sunday afternoon I was babysitting my neighbors two kids (two year old girl and one year old boy). I had the little boy downstairs watching cartoons and I was trying to get the little girl to come downstairs so I picked her up and was walking down the stairs with her. I slipped down five stairs and landed right onto my left foot. It hurt so bad. I called my mom to come over and help me. It swelled up a little sunday....but yesterday it turned all sorts of pretty shades of blue. All I had done was ice it and wrap it up in an ace bandage.
Well last night around 11pm Carey took me to the ER here in Allen to get it xrayed b/c we were certain something in there was broken. I spent four and half hours in there to find out that its a bad sprain with some torn ligaments. The Doc even was very surprised with the swelling and coloring that there were no fractures or breaks. So now I have to wear this cool boot and use crutches when Im walking around for a long period of time :(
Please pray that it will heal quickly b/c I havent even had this boot on for 24hrs and I already hate it!

Here is a pic of the side of my foot...its so swollen!

Here is the bruising on my toes.

    ooh owww ouch.

i'm assuming that the kid you were carrying was fine, but i bet the terror at possibly harming a small child was quite strong as you fell

perhaps as a non-praying kind of guy i should say no more, ..., but
i'm sure you'll be able to find the resolve to cope with good grace, you strike me as that kind of person.

failing that it'll not be your turn to make the tea for a while

lol your posts always crack me up.

Actually the little girl I was carrying bumped her head on the railing of the stairs as I fell. But she put her hand on her head and said "Are you ok Miss Kelli?" She didnt cry or anything. The rest of thenight that I was there she kept asking me if I was ok b/c I had ice on my foot. She is so cute.

youch, i did something similar, but i didn't fall down stairs.. >.<

i was running down and going to jump down the last 3-4 steps, then my cat ran out in front of me, around where i was going to land, so i had to contort my leg to not step on her with all my weight and force from the jump, thus landing on the front top area of my foot

took me a few weeks to figure out i had broken a small bone in there

    damn kitty

    good luck on fast healing

Shitty deal. Hope you heal quickly. I've found sprains hurt worse the broken bones. I busted my hand a while back and that hurt a fraction of the amount it did when I last sprained my wrist.

Ouch! That doesn't look like any fun. I'm so sorry. At least the wounds weren't that bad and its nothing permanent.

Best of luck with a speedy recovery!

Ouch, hope you heal fast, just take it easy with that ankle cause it will never be the same, once you tear a legimant in your ankle it never grows back as strong.
