You don't need A/C to de-fog your car. Turn the heat on (if your heating system is hooked up, it should as it really has little to do with the engine) and make sure to press the de-frost button (the one with the three sqiggly lines) for the rear window.

Yes you should as long as the heater core has not been bypassed.

Keep the windows as clean as possible, also there is some stuff you can put on the windows to help. (Forget the name but you can find it at most parts stores.)

use the dirty ass crumpled up sweatshirt in the back seat.

seriously though. the reason why defrost works so fast and so well with a/c is because the a/c dehumidifies (dries) the air.

i've owned 2 of the exact same cars, 1 with and 1 without a/c. with a/c the defrost works instantaneously, without it took between a few minutes and up to at least 15 when it's super cold and wet. i know this because it took 15 minutes to get to high school, and sometimes i could still barely see when i got there.

so yea, you're pretty much screwed till you get a/c.

no not really, its a diffrent part of the system. a/c and heat are totally diffrent, just the buttons are in the same place. You have a heater core and a a/c compresser lots take a/c out and still have heat. its quite nice to have heat lol

I never could figure that shit out. I would go back and forth between A/C and heat. Seemed like it was going to fog either on the inside or the outside of the window. Generally I just roll the windows down...I tried the Rain-X defogger, but didn't see much improvement.

Just have temperature in the car and outside close to the same. If there is a difference it will fog anyway. Just blast air on the windows, have the window open.
