I was curious as to if it was RWD or not. I hope this means they will end up make the Caprice SS much like this (that is if they really are bringing the G8 platform to the Chevy lineup).

EDIT: You can bet your ass I will be buying one when they start reselling the used cop car ones.

fwd and lack of power is what kills the impalas as cruisers IMO.. alot of the agencys around here are still running crown vics or chargers as patrol cars, usually the impalas are either detectives or UC's.. i know our local pd experimented with the intrepids (fwd) but quickly went back to crown vics after having alot of issues with them.

Cop cars here ALL used to be Impalas but now its all Crown Vics. I guess the cops here got sick of everyone outrunning them with ease. :lmao:

Those vic's aren't much faster than the Impala's.

The main reason cops don't like them is because they're unibody weaklings, and can be totaled by doing the PIT maneuver.

    Edit:

    That's 5k for meh! :D

I know personally the Impala cars are quite a bit slower then the Crown Vics by experience. ;)

I wanna see if they do a new Camaro cop package. That'd be a badass cop car IMO.

According to Google, the 'Vics are only .1 of a second faster than a old Impala.

Those 4.6L SOHC V8's are SLLOOWWW.
