Default Hella Flush?

So what's your opinion of this new trend with japanese and european cars? You know the crazy looking wheel fitaments and shit. Hasn't really hit my area yet but I kinda don't want it to.

Getting big here.

NOT MY PERSONAL cup of tea, (as I would not want to replace tires, repair wheels, etc all the time) but I do RESPECT the time and work most of the guys are doing when they do it RIGHT. I have seen some cars that just... defy explanation. That alone can be appeal for someone, just being so different. The style seems to go hand in hand with skinny jeans, throw-back sneakers, cool hair and mix-tape DJ's. Go to one of the events or see a video on vimeo, you will see what I mean. Mos def a new-age kinda thing.

Honestly, I like it. I don't like the music or clothes associated with the style but I do like the cars. Really slammed, a lil camber and a lil stretch looks good. But it's the overkill shit that I can't stand.

A nice drop with a good offset looks good.

Ridiculous negative camber, with wheels that are wider than the tire and on the verge of touching just looks gay.

Anything overdone just looks bad IMO. If done in moderation with a little bit of taste, it can look pretty good.

They have been featuring some butt fucking ugly cars lately. And Im starting to hate the whole thing in general. And apparently Im not hellafpush because I cant stick my id between my rear tire and qp and get it to stay by itself.

Im getting a suspension setup next week though. few degs of negative camber on the back

"Flush", by definition, would indicate that nothing sticks out past the body. Yet all of the "flush" pics I've seen show wheels and tires clearly sticking out past the bodywork.

i agree, i thing the term should be something like tucked or around those lines, as the top of the rim or tire is usually tucked into the body work...

I dig it. I need new coils to get lower and my tires are too wide currently. Thinking 205s on my 8.5s up front and 225s on my 10s out back.

I would like it if the tires fit and the wheels hadn't fucked up the panels from hitting.

I like some of the cars, but when they're so low that they rub the fender liners and have like 20 degrees of toe out it looks horrible to me

"Flush" as in "Flush that look/idea down the toilet!"

Shit's ugly and a safety hazard. How long do you think those tires are ridden on before the side wall tread beads and wire fail and go out? How many "kids" do this shit and can't afford to buy tires often. It's HELLA STUPID!

And because I like Miata's,

Proper Flush

But to each their own. Oh and yes I know miata's are gay.

Any style can be overdone it's just a matter of personal taste.

^ I dig the works more but the xxr's are nice wheels.

Check out clubroadster.net sometime, pretty decent site with a bit more crazy than m.net. If you want some sick wheels look up a user named Rob that lives over in japan, he'll pick up wheels from auction then ship them back over here, pretty rare stuff.

Yea, I like alot of those wheels, but for the price you can't knock the xxr's lol.

Thanks for the info I'll hit up that site, m.net is kinda more about stock miatas and less modded it seems.

I'll have to check him out, thanks again.

I do not like the whole hellaflush thing, thankfully it hasn't hit ABQ yet, we're still stuck with little daytons.

Another Miata forum with some good info is miataturbo.net. Of course this caters more to the...well, turboed ones.

oh, and my take on the flush fad. some cars look good some can pull it off but it's a trend like anything else and some people take it too far. I seen a few cars that were flushed I wouldn't mind owning

I think most of it should of been kept for the Euro market.. most Hondas are cheaping out and using knock offs and I think that defeats the purpose of a "show" car. Either way.. it's not performance oriented so it's not my cup of tea.

I personally don't like it. I myself am a functional type of guy, and that much rear camber will only hurt performance. I like low offset, but I wouldn't take it past +33. And I hate how people used staggered offsets with the wide wheels on the wrong end of the car. Looks clean though.

Im just more into cars that are correct...and drive correct...these to me are a design conflict with its engineering.

not saying they look ugly...some do look decent...still I would not want to do this personally to any car id own.
