Is any one going to this? I got one other friend coming with me but thought it be cool to see other fellow RKC members there? or even perhaps that are participating in the event.

one thing thats a bit of a drag is the 30 dollar ticket price. Is that just right for a car show like this or to high?

RKC is not participating in ANY HIN this year from what I gather.

oh. Is there any reason as to why?

I know there's a reason, I dunno what it is though.

oh. Is there any reason as to why?

Yes.

In the past, RKC has partnered with HIN to promote shows in Dallas, Austin, Minneapolis and more. In exchange, we received a BOOTH in their show, and permission to display 8 cars for exhibition (no prizes). Basically, we just wanted exposure, no money.

This year, we have not been contacted by HIN, so as the shows have approached, I have been asked "if we are doing it" and I say "I dont know". Well, I got the email from HIN, but it was not to discuss details, it was to let me know to "Stop spreading rumors about HIN" and saying that I was getting things from them etc. I never said anything of the sort! As rude as it was to get this email with no proof or evidence, I still replied with an apology, and asked if we can begin to work out details for this years show. He replied that "He has considered the situation, and HIN will not be partnering with RKC in any way this year". Well then, seeing as though these crooks travel the nation to TAKE MONEY from as many people as they can, and dont even want to support the sites and organizations that help to keep the hobby alive and kicking (For free!?!), then my official stance is that we will not only NOT participate in HIN, but I will personally advocate AGAINST participating in it! Its no secret that HIN is a BUSINESS and the original founders of the company have long since SOLD OUT and moved on with their lives. HIN has a #1 goal. TO MAKE MONEY. RKC has a #1 goal, TO MAKE THE HOBBY BETTER. Our goal > their goal!

Until I get an email saying that they will accomodate us in exchange for promotion, I will not support them in any way, not even allow the words HIN to be spoken on RKC webspace, or a SINGLE flyer to be handed out any ANY RKC event.

When they email me back to tell me they have re-considred, I will issue a public statement praising HIN, endorsing the show, and I will work hard to make sure they have record turnouts this year in regions RKC supports.

Until then, sorry!

Wow. Had no idea it was a reason like that. IM surpirsed that they took that type of stance seeing as that last year it was ok from what i gather. Guess things change . Well you can delete this thread then since it has been tainted with "you know who's" name :secret:

No need to delete. I want them to see that I am doing what I said I would do!

Its not hard to talk someone out of keeping $30 in their own pockets instead of giving it to a group of people that dont give a damn about car enthusiasts beyond how much MONEY they can make off of them!

Not a fan of HIN, or the crowd of Sheeple it seems to draw. Don't get Me wrong, I love the cars(even if They are the same ones EVERY Year), and more importantly, I appreciate the work that goes into making the cars "Show Quality". But I have never been a fan of the vibe at HIN shows. I'll take TX Heatwave>HIN any day...

OH, good luck showing TurboZ85

TX Heatwave>HIN any day...

well I agree with you on that point, but....

Myself and Eurocharged Performance did HIN Chicago this year. We went with the intention of stealing the show. We didn't care all that much about judging and so on, but we went and represented like we wanted to and did steal the show.

12 shop cars, 5 photographers, full laser/light and sound show, 3 DJs, 35 models and a stripper pole. We had more people around our booth the entire day than HIN did at their main stage. That is a win.

check out some photos from HIN Chicago from one of our Eurocharged photographers. www.glockphoto.com (http://www.glockphoto.com)

I will not be attending. Neither will I be entering my cars. I don't agree with their judging nor the way they treat their entrants. Heatwave FTW.

Just from what i have seen/read about it, I would most likely not enjoy myself at a HIN show.

Do not want.

I had a ton of fun there. Got an ish load of pictures and knew most of the drifting drivers. Lots of nice models, and the Muy-Thai boxing match was pretty cool too. Was worth the $22 in my book.

Why would they be there? Tech fans knew they had no chance so why bother driving so far from Lubbock?

Haha I actually like Tech growing up in West Texas and everything, but always wanted to be a Longhorn (if I couldn't get into Rice or Ivy). I have way more friends that went to Tech though. It's a really nice school and I had quite a few races out there.

Races? In West Texas?!? Nooo....
j/k, I lived in Ft. Stockton for about 18 months, and if You're not at "the" Sonic, You were racing...

Funny, I can remember laying in bed late nights and hear fart cans in the distance every couple of minutes on the weekends...sounded like a damn video game(nfsu2, maybe?)

Me and a friend took a trip out awhile back to one of these events, was not impressed have yet to return doubt I will for that matter. Keep in mind I live in Maine so we had to travel on top of the entry and everything else so it was kind of a double dissapointment.
